So let me start off by saing that I don't use Maven. I reconstructed the projects in eclipse using eclipse's built in everything, so it's entirely possible I messed something up in the process...

When I run the chat demo (in gwt's debug mode), I get the following exception when it tries to connect...

22:01:21.919 [ERROR] [gwtdemo] comet.error [connected=false] (0)

com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.StatusCodeException: 0

I'd like for it to run on websockets, which the server startup seems to indicate that it is running in websocket mode successfully... and yet, onReadyStateChange() indicates to me that it is attempting a Comet transport. I would first suspect my web.xml I suppose. Maybe the migration to Tomcat 7?
